With the end of the traditional planned economy and the era of the scarce commodities, we have already entered the real buyer’s market nowadays and the increasing diversification and personalization of customers’ demands should be on the agenda. McDonal’s has won its market demand in the wide-spread expansion; Honda has relied on the dumping exports to march toward the European and American market; and the Sony has won the trust and praise of a lot of new clients driven by the crazy technology development, all of which must attach our more importance to putting the effective marketing strategies to face various challenges and opportunities in the global competition.

Under such background, as a art student with acute marketing insight and strong solid foundation in digital techniques, like new media techniques and computer technologies, I have made a full consideration upon my career development and personal research interests. Now, to pursue a master’s degree in integrated marketing at NYU can be thought of as the key decision of my life.

For me, I do wish to satisfy my long-term desire of being an excellent CEO with abundant marketing theories, rich managerial experiences as well as good creative thinking, who can combine with what I have learned in previous years with the real-would business so as to finally realize my self-value and social value. To be honest, my interests in combination of marketing exploration and art wisdom can be initially traced back to my five years old. Deeply influenced by my father, a general manager who ran a tourism company and often shared with me some fresh ideas and new approaches to meet different consumers’ needs during their journeys, I was full of curiosity towards the marketing world and sometimes after listening to my parents’ conversations, I would also express my green ideas and put forwards to my own questions. When I got a chance to access to University of Buffalo, a famous university in Buffalo, considering my strong talents in photography and its bright employment prospect, I finally decided to accept my parents’ suggestion and devote myself into the art field. However, for me, the past years’ rigorous training in the major of Art also can be thought of a rewarding journey during which I gradually grew to be a person with abundant imagination, good out-sight and innovation ability as well as keen insight who enabled to understand clearly the artistic aesthetics and the hidden business laws behind them and learn how to meet my clients’ individual needs in art creation. Take the photographic industry for example.

Along with the rapid evolution of new digital technologies and an increasingly sophisticated consumer population, apart from the improvement of photographers’ professional skills, for photo studios, it is crucial for them to reach customer in new and innovative ways so as to gain more comparative edges in the fierce competitions. Thus, my great passion in marketing has been greatly stimulated. Instead of spending more time in entertainment, I immersed myself in making a further exploration upon some business-based subjects, like culture & art management, psychology, marketing, accounting and finance, human resource management, etc. all of which deepened my initial understandings of the relations between art and business world. By means of the online learning platform and videos on the Youtube, I even taught myself general knowledge of business writing and business analytics.

As an international student with non-business education background, I have never been doubt my comprehensive ability, which verified once again during my charge of being the financial secretary of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) at the University of Buffalo. I was responsible for planning, managing and seeking sponsorship for cultural activities such as the Mid-Autumn Festival Party and the New Years’ Party for overseas students, all of which won warm response among students. In the process of seeking for the sponsorship, after communicating with some small-and-middle-sized bosses, I deeply felt that for the majority of the small-and-middle-sized Chinese enterprises, the strategic marketing plans were not on their agenda and some of them were especially keen to the low price marketing strategies, which were far behind the advanced foreign companies.

Meanwhile, for the customers, the physical forms of various product styles are always employed to achieve all the three aspects of functions, namely, usages, aesthetic appreciation and symbolism through the customer relationship marketing so as to improve the satisfaction of clients and enhance their locality towards products themselves. Therefore, I did feel the strong responsibility on my shoulders that it is an urgent thing for me to learn more advanced marketing skills from a strategic perspective with the world-famous faculties and experts.

In the year of 2015, teaming with several partners, I led them to open a delivery service company and registered my own brand. And in 2016, it was launched officially in Buffalo zone fully affirming my excellent practical ability. As the general manager and CFO, I am mainly responsible for staff recruitment, order allocation and corporate finance. All of those activities saw my improvement in leadership, communication and cooperation ability as well as team work skills.

I deeply remembered that in order to gain the accurate customer information and provide the individual services for them, I even planned and organized many activities to attract their full attentions.
