Communication by speaking or writing in daily life is very essential for people in the workplace. High-quality communication with others, on one hand, influences the mood of employees, it also impacts work efficiency of them. I found that with the development of electronic communication patterns more and more people prefer to communicate with others by email, texts, messages, etc. other than oral communication.

It is very normal that employees from different positions communicate with colleagues or consumers in these electronically communicate patterns. So a survey was conducted for 11 employees from different positions who facing communication problems on electronic communication patterns in the workplace. The aim of this survey was to observe the problem behind massive electronic communication. After analyzing the survey some suggestions also given in this report.

Nine questions which include six single choice questions and two short answer questions were answered by the 11 employees. And I found that more than sixty percent of employees were working as consumer servicers, retail associate, or coordinator, very few of surveyors worked as a manager or senior executive total about thirty percent. Most of the employees choose to use email as their communication pattern (more than sixty percent), and also reports or documents about thirty percent.

And more than thirty and twenty percent of surveyors feel regularly the poor formatting of language and non-professional language were the main problems they were facing. In addition, oral communication in work like presentation, meetings, or interpersonal communication was rarely performed in their work time although more than fifty percent of surveyors thought interpersonal communication is very essential. Finally, some surveyors thought the key for high-quality communication was polite language and oral communication interpersonally since employees complain less when communicating face to face.

According to the survey results, we know that people working as consumer servicer, retail associate, coordinator mainly communicated with customers with electronic communication patterns and electronic communication such as email accounts for a big part of daily communication in the workplace. And we also noticed that people always come across language formatting and non-professional language problems when communicating by writing emails, messages, or reports. At the same time, oral communication becomes no longer exists although it is very important. In addition, people rarely unsatisfied with oral communication even sometimes they also do interpersonal communication.

As the most important part of communication using the language both in writing and speaking is very essential. And people should take care of their using of language whether in oral communication or electronic writing communication. For these results in the survey, I recommend improving the language using the ability of employees in the workplace.

In practical improvement, actions could be professional language education courses in the workplace for those employees who always write. Increasing the reading amount for employees, by allocating reading materials that can improve their writing skills to employees. And professional language training before work also suggested applying in workplaces. On the other hand, oral presentation or communication in the workplace should be encouraged since employees complain less about interpersonal communication than writing.
